Turning Life Experiences and Disability into Creativity Autistic advocate and writer Alec Frazier is the author of Veni! Vidi! Autism!, a book of reviews, pop-culture pieces, disability studies essays, and fan writings. In this presentation, Alec will present on how you can turn every day experiences into creative writing, with a focus on nonfiction. He will also focus on how you can write creatively and organically with multiple disabilities informing your work. Everybody has the ability to tell a great story, and Alec will help you tell yours! He will also hold a question and answer period towards the end of his panel and will answer questions on disability advocacy as well as creative writing. Alec Frazier is an autistic 32-year-old resident of Takoma Park, Maryland. A disability rights advocate since he was eight years old, Alec is the Director of his own firm, Autistic Reality, and is the copyrighted author of two books, Without Fear: The First Autistic Superhero and Veni! Vidi! Autism!. For his work at Autistic Reality, Alec does public speaking, lobbying, peer advocacy, and publicity, as well as many other forms of advocacy. Amongst other things, Alec has spoken on Capitol Hill, has mentored for the AAPD summer internship class, has gotten major legislation passed, has appeared and spoken at multiple conferences and conventions, and regularly meets with leaders in the federal government and private sector. He is also the host of the Autistic Reality Podcast. Alec has a bachelor?s in political science, and a master?s in disability studies, both from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
